If you follow us on social media, then you’re probably aware of the photo competition we’ve been running for the past three weeks. The rules were simple; send us photos of you enjoying our trips past or present, and the best photo wins USD $500 towards their next tour! Loads of you got involved and it was difficult to pick just one winner from all of your travel photos. In the end, we chose Robyn Bonaccorsi for her beautiful sunset shot taken in Wadi Rum, Jordan. You can see the photo below.
We hope you agree it’s a worthy winner, and congratulations to Robyn for winning the competition. However, it seems a shame to let all the other entries go to waste! There were so many amazing tour images that we think you deserve to see. So grab a cup of tea, sit back, and enjoy a selection of your best travel photos taken on our trips. A word of warning, we will not be held responsible if you are on the phone to book your own trip in the next few minutes!
Your travel photos
Wadi Rum, Jordan
Wadi Rum proved a popular destination for your travel pics, and we had several entries that really showed off this spectacular destination. The red lunar landscape of Wadi Rum is the reason it’s been used as the backdrop for many famous films, from The Martian to Dune.
As you can see from these entries, the desert can make for some spectacular photos! Many thanks to (from left to right and top to bottom) Disha, Evelyn, Heather, and Maria for these tour images.
Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
Egypt has always been our most popular destination, and thousands of you have been to see the Pyramids with us over the years. No surprise then, that we had loads of competition entries from you featuring these legendary ancient wonders! Here are some of our favourites…
A big thank you to Tiffany, Kylie, Donna, and Robyn (again) for these great shots. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pyramids of Giza collage without one of our amazing Egypt tour guides making an appearance – hi Momo!
Ancient Egypt
Of course, there’s far more to Egypt than just the Pyramids of Giza. The Sphinx guards these famous monuments and is a popular companion for travellers’ selfies. Whilst down south in Luxor, ancient treasures abound in the form of Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, and the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
This amazing selection of travel photos was sent in by Nicolette, Harry, Christina, and Graziele, who recently reunited with her dad in Egypt after two years apart during the pandemic. Just the kind of story we love to hear about on our trips!
Turkey
Lots of you have been exploring Turkey with us too! From the subterranean cave cities of Cappadocia to the white travertines and hot springs of Pamukkale, it was great to see all of your tour images coming in. Here are a few of the best ones!
These photos were sent to us by Fabiola, Emma, and Nicole, so thank you all for your entries!
India
India has been slower than many countries to recover and reopen to travellers since the pandemic. But things are starting to pick up, and your travel photos from previous years have certainly helped us start to think about travelling to the country again! It won’t be long now until our groups are once more discovering the wonder of the Taj Mahal, spotting Bengal tigers in Ranthambore National Park, and celebrating the religious festivals of Holi and Diwali.
These travel pics from our India tours gone by were sent in by Rebecca, Sarah, and Tarn. Thanks, guys!
The last few photos
We travel to more than 40 destinations, so we had photos coming in from all sorts of places! Here’s a final selection of some of your entries from our destinations around the world.
From left to right and top to bottom, this is Harry’s amazing photo at Petra in Jordan. Tarryn took a great rhino selfie during her African safari. Sadaf got in touch with us to tell us that she fell in love with Japan so much on her 2017 tour, that she now actually lives in Tokyo! And finally, Barbara sent us this photo of her camel trek into the Sahara Desert.
And finally…
As well as your amazing photos, a couple of you sent us some more unique entries. And we simply have to share these with you. Below you can see Nicole’s digital illustration of her hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey. And on the right is Eddie’s cyanotype of Petra in Jordan, using a photo he took on tour with us. A cyanotype is created by a unique photographic process which involves using chemicals and exposing an image to UV light in order to create a faded, old school effect. We do have some very talented travellers! Thanks to Nicole and Eddie for sharing these.
We simply don’t have room to share all of your travel photos here. So, if you can’t see your entry then we apologize! But thank you so much for sending them all in. We’ll be running more competitions in the future, so maybe you’ll be the lucky winner next time! Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Instagram so you don’t miss out!
